At Apex Elite we are committed to providing our athletes with the highest quality service. To do so, we require all Apex coaches to become USATF certified. The USATF certification process involves passing a background check and completing an annual SafeSport training module.
Gavin brings a unique running background to his coaching journey. As a true walk-on in college, he embraced the underdog mentality and has run times of 8:17 in the 3k, 14:14 in the 5k, and 29:37 in the 10k. Gavin believes everyone has the ability to reach their apex through consistent hard work paired with intelligent training. His coaching style emphasizes growth on and off the track and he is dedicated to doing anything he can to help his athletes realize their full potential.
Shane began his coaching journey after a successful collegiate running career, having run a 3:59 mile and a 1:50 800m. Still pursuing running at a professional level, he knows what it takes to improve, having done the training himself. He is constantly trying new workouts and drills to give to his athletes. Shane focuses on helping athletes of all skill levels reach their full potential. Whether coaching first-time runners or seasoned athletes, Shane is committed to helping athletes surpass their limits and dream big.
Tommy graduated from DePaul in 2024, having run for the team for all 4 years of college. He currently holds the 5K school record. He is very excited to start his coaching journey. Focusing on fostering athletes is his passion. Helping athletes gain confidence in themselves is an integral piece to his coaching methodology. Having been a life long runner himself he has years of experience and expertise to help other's reach their goals.
